Doin’ the Doo-doo

13 04 2009

A lousy night’s sleep – waking with a start at 3:30am and then totally unable to fall back into somnambulism – meant that when ‘gym time’ rolled around, the prospect felt about as appealing as sticking a fork in my eye.

However, I decided to get my gear on and ‘just go and do 5km’.

Which is exactly what I did. 5km on the treadmill, no more, no less, and in just under the space of an hour.

Visage’s “Fade to Grey“, The Time’s “The Walk” & Betty Boo’s “Doin’ the Do” all provided the best ipod ‘bang for my beat’, whilst Sparks’ “Number One Song in Heaven” and the 12″ mix of Sweet’s “Love is like Oxygen” ended up being far more problematic than I imagined them to be when I slipped them into my gym playlist. (I must work harder on the playlist this week – the rhythms really can make ALL the difference to my workout)

Let’s not talk about my weekly weigh-in, except to state that I haven’t put on any poundage. I DO know my issue though – and to quote (I think it was?) comedian Roy “Chubby” Brown – I am still putting more in here (points to mouth), than comes out of here (points to posterior)

I think I might go back to bed now.
